  1. Just because I’m from the south (SC) I’m partial to the lovely Harper Bazaar Cover from January 1922. I always like a stroll down “vintage” lane. Thank you for a wonderful blog post!

  2. Oh, brilliant, that Harper’s cover is an Erté. Of course he was told he could do anything in life except drawing as he was no good at it. Hah!

I love his Deco covers, jewelry and colour sense in general, thanks for posting these magazine covers Liz.

  3. Hi, thanks for including Jet and Ebony. I have to limit image/ media watching because the images of black women are so negative. Today… or, we are not there at all. It’s so disheartening. I literally burst into tears 2 weeks ago after reading an absolutely horrible comment about black women in general. I’m almost 60. This shouldn’t still be happening

    • Hi Allie,

Thank you for stopping by and commenting and I 1000% agree that hateful comments and other horrible acts of racism should not still be happening. Here at the vintage inn I have been trying to help bring positive vintage imagery of Black Women & Men in my vintage tuesday posts and things like “january magazine covers” that you stopped by and commented on. Its something small but I want this to be a safe space for all POC and beyond. Hate is not welcome here.

Take care and thank you again for commenting.

      Liz
