Thank You to My Readers! I’m on the ‘Top 100 Vintage Blogs & Websites to Follow in 2018’

Last year I received a blogger award from Feedspot for being # 41 on the Top 100 Vintage Blogs And Websites To Follow in 2017This award was particularly exciting for me because I have never won anything where I was chosen because of the quality of my blog and stats. And as a social media professional (who is working on opening my own Pinterest Account Management business), this meant my hardwork was finally paying off. YAY!

However I do also realize that my #41 spot would not of been achieved if I did not have some of the most loyal and wonderful readers out there. So dear readers thank you once again!

For those who missed last years post here is how the award came to be…

These blogs were ranked based on following criteria:

  • Google reputation and Google search ranking
  • Influence and popularity on Facebook, twitter and other social media sites
  • Quality and consistency of posts.
  • Feedspot’s editorial team and expert review

BUT now I have even more exciting news regarding this award…I’m now 21!! Yes I have moved up 20 spots on the ‘Top 100 Vintage Blogs and Website to follow in 2018‘ and it happened in a short 3-4 month time period this year (one minute I was 41 and then I was not).

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! to all my readers (new and old) once again! You are truly the best and I could not of done it without you.

I also want to point out that one of the other reasons I jumped so quickly from 41 to 21 in 3-4 months was because of Pinterest. As mentioned above I’m starting my own ‘Pinterest Account Management Business’ (to open officially very soon) because I want to help small businesses realize the potential that Pinterest has to boost sales and leads. Alll I did was devote a good chunk of time to doing Pinterest Marketing correctly and I was excited to see that it was one of the reasons my placement changed.

If you are interested in learning more on how I use Pinterest to boost views to my blog drop me a line at ‘thevintageinnblog@gmail.com and lets chat! Oh and follow me on the platform as well. I have LOADS and LOADS of cool vintage images, posts, clothing and so much more to keep you entertained for days!

My Favorite Vintage Online Reads & Videos from Summer 2017

Hello September! you are officially here and I’m sadly wearing a sweater as I write this blog post. Sigh..summer I know your technically still on the calendar but weather wise you are not (at least not in Toronto). I’m so sad, so I’m going to ease my sorrow by looking back at (and sharing with you) some of my favorite vintage online articles and videos that have kept me company on summer road trips and vacations.

Glenn Miller Book Clears RAF of Accidentally Killing Band Leader by The Guardian

About: The death of Glenn Miller has been one of the enduring unsolved mysteries of the second world war. The US musician’s aircraft vanished over the Channel without trace in 1944 after leaving a British airbase for France. The disappearance of the hottest big-band leader of the era has provoked numerous theories, some wild, with a long-held claim that his plane was brought down by RAF Lancasters jettisoning their bombs over the English Channel.

But that latter theory has been challenged by new research.
