Happy New Years my vintage friends! I can’t believe that 2013 is coming to an end already as it feels like it has just started. I had such a glorious year filled with traveling, blogging and meeting some totally amazing friends thru my blog and thru my travels and I am truly excited to see what 2014 will bring.
My New Years plans have me in NYC and while the actual evening of New Years is up in the air regarding fun plans, tonight’s evening is uber vintage and I’m super excited! I’m off to this event called “The Salon” at the historic Players Club. 6 bands on three floors (Swing, Blues and Jazz), burlesque, tap routine, dj’s etc. etc. I have my best vintage dress ready to go and I hope I can score some pictures to share with all of you fine readers. Can’t wait!!
What are your plans for New Years?
Once again Happy New Years friends, thank you for reading my blog this year and I hope you have a super night 🙂
On Thursday I will be heading to NYC for the weekend with my husband for a big German event called the “Steuben Parade” that we happen to be participates in. It’s going to be an amazing experience and I cannot wait and I also cannot wait to go back to one of my favorite cities in the world, NYC. I love this city so very much and every time I set foot in it, I feel like I’m at home.
So while I pack for the city that never sleeps I thought I would share some cool vintage photos I found online of NYC. Enjoy!
Vintage Photos of New York City
1940’s vintage photo of a New York City Street in 1941.
As a Lindy Hopper I love this picture “Dancing Girls in Harlem 1938”.
Penn Station 1940’s. How romantic is this hello or goodbye? I think it’s a Goodbye.
1940s vintage photo of a stylish woman walking down a NYC street in 1940s clothing. Love the look of the girl on the side with that Snood? Fantastic!
Since the weather just may be somewhat nice this weekend, I think I could totally pull this off…if I had the clothes that is:)
A pretty young woman in the 1940s sitting on the famous stoops of New York. Isn’t she gorgeous??
What movie star is this? Let me know in the comments section below. ANSWER: Lizabeth Scott
I love everything about this photo-1950s vintage photo of women waiting to go into a photobooth.
